years, Ms. Podziba
has mediated scores
of cases involving
international relations,
governance, environmental
disputes, land use
and development
decisions, transportation
planning, security,
labor standards,
public health, and
education policy.
Ms.
Podziba served as
a Fulbright Senior
Specialist in Peace
and Conflict Resolution
at the Amsterdam
Centre for Conflict
Studies at the University
of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
She was a Lecturer
at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology's
Department of Urban
Studies and Planning
from 1996-2002 and
Faculty Associate
at the Program On
Negotiation at Harvard
Law School from
1999-2002. She currently
lectures internationally.
Ms.
Podziba has published
numerous articles
on negotiation,
mediation, and consensus
building, most recently,
as a New York Times
Op-Ed Contributor.
Her book, The Chelsea
Story: How a Corrupt
City Re-Generated
its Democracy (Bruno
Mondadori 2006),
is used in courses
throughout Italy.

Science Monitor,
The Boston Globe,
FastCompany, National
Public Radio, and
affiliates of all
major U.S. television
networks have reported
on her projects.

her Bachelor of
Arts in philosophy

of Amsterdam, Netherlands
and is also Program
Director of the
Masters Program
in Conflict Resolution
and Government and
a Founder of the
Amsterdam Centre
for Conflict Studies.
Dr.
Laws is a former
Research Scientist
and Lecturer at
the Department of
Urban Studies and
Planning of the
Massachusetts Institute
of Technology where
he was also co-director
of the Environmental
Technology and Public
Policy Program.
He is a Senior Consultant
at Susan Podziba
& Associates.
Dr.
Laws specializes
in ethics, public
policy, and alternative
dispute resolution.
His research focuses
on institutional
development in environmental
regulation and democratic
governance. His
recent publications

Lawrence Susskind)
